Veterinary Referrals

Animal Medical Centre South is connected to a network of veterinary services that we trust. While we have a team of veterinarians with special interests and are always welcoming new experts to our team, there may still be times when we will need to refer specific cases to colleagues outside of our team. This means you’ll be offered care in another location that specializes in the treatment your pet needs. We provide referrals to ensure your pet is getting optimal care. Why can’t my pet be treated by your veterinarians?

While we pride ourselves in our ability to perform plenty of tests and provide a variety of treatments, we do have our limitations. For instance, at the moment we do not have the resources to proceed with all kinds of orthopedic procedures, so we refer to the expertise of a certified orthopedic surgeon to perform operations. Though we have an in-house laboratory, we still rely on external labs to complete other tests we need.

How do you handle emergency care?

In the case you need emergency or non-emergent surgery we cannot provide, we have a great network of veterinarians we can recommend. We want to make sure your pet is back on the mend as soon as possible. The best way to do that is refer you, in a quick and timely matter, to the best veterinary professionals we know. They will have specialized tests and procedures ready for you that we do not.
