The benefits of an ultrasound
Having access to the ultrasound and a number of vets whom have taken additional continuing education in the art of ultrasound as well as spent countless hours honing their skill set means better diagnostic abilities in the case of emergency or illness. The ultrasound is also used for simple tasks such as collecting urine via cystoocentesis (using a needle to obtain a urine sample) from our less cooperative patients. We use the ultrasound to aid in the diagnosis of pregnancy, bladder stones or inflammation, foreign bodies, and tumors and more.
