Our veterinarians can provide a wide range of services to exotic animals.

Contact Us

We provide a wide range of care for exotic pets. Our clinic is familiar with the needs of birds, rabbits, ferrets and hedgehogs. Amongst our team of doctors, we have exotic pet specialists who our patients love. Along with providing medical care, we also sell food that will meet their nutritional needs. Check out our website to see what we offer. To book an appointment or to let us know what we’re lacking from our dietary inventory, reach us by calling 403-527-4888.

Which exotic pets are legal to have in Canada?

We may not see it often but there are many animal loving pet parents who prefer the company of exotic pets over cats and dogs. As it turns out, many of them are legal. Hedgehogs, macaws, pygmy goats and pot belly pigs are common non-typical pets. Their personalities range from quiet to extremely vocal, affectionate to shy. Knowing these personality traits will help you decide the kind of exotic pet most compatible with you. Other exotic pets that people don’t usually encounter are servals, donkeys, fennec foxes and capybaras.

How do I decide which exotic pet is suitable for my lifestyle?

The most important questions you should ask yourself is if your home is large enough, can you afford their dietary needs and how much time, on a daily basis, can you afford to shower them with affection. It also helps to learn about common medical conditions they develop in their old age. When it comes to the home environment, certain conditions can be manipulated. For instance, reptiles require warmth so a heat source over their enclosure would keep the temperature at an optimal level. The next issue to consider is how often and how much they consume. Are you able to find food for them nearby? We offer specialty food for birds, ferrets, rabbits, turtles, small rodents, pigs and more!
